Lung Diseases

Right now we are going to talk about 2 types of lung disease – COPD & Asthma (refractory non-reversible)

COPD Symptoms

COPD makes it hard to breathe and I know this firsthand because my wife has got it and it gets worse over time.  there are several diseases that fall into the COPD category.

Emphysema

Bronchitis

and the one we are going to talk about Asthma

This is some of her symptoms.

  1. Wheezing and tightness in the chesthealthy and diseased sacs in the lung
  2. Coughing
  3. Mucus
  4. Shortness of breath
  5. Weakness

Now the way COPD works is when you take air in it makes it hard to get it out. Air pockets in your lungs called sacs to become infected and do not work to get the air out as they should.

Way to Treat COPD

Quick-relief inhalers and nebulizers.

The quick-relief inhalers are just that if you have a flare-up you use a quick-relief inhaler to instantly open up airways.

The nebulizer is for long term treatment could include any type of inhaled medication whatever your doctor prescribes.

Lung Flute is a handheld flute shaped device that you blow into that helps reduce the mucus loosening it by sound wave vibrations.

Some COPD Causes

Smoking is one of the main causes of COPD and the more you smoke the worse it is for COPD.

Any kind of air pollution could be a cause like exhausts from factories or chemical plants or even burning trash or wood whatever it is could be any type of pollution.

COPD can be inherited with a genetic disorder known as alpha-1 if you inherit a mutated gene you could be infected.

Asthma Symptoms

An asthma attack occurs when the muscles around the airways get swollen, causing the airway linings to close up, and mucus to build up that causes you to cough, wheeze and spit-up. Asthma is a progressive lung disease, other symptoms you may have.

  • Rapid Breathinggood airway compared to asthmatic airway
  • Difficulty Speaking
  • Lips and fingernail may turn blue
  • Chest Pain

Some Asthma Causes

The reasons I have found that cause people to get asthma are either from the environment or genetics.

They are several things that can trigger asthma attack some of them are:

  • Common cold
  • Any respiratory infection
  • Smoke or any air pollutant
  • Certain medications
  • Stress
  • Some foods can even be a cause

Ways to Treat Asthma

There is no cure for asthma, but there are ways to control it.

The very first thing that should be done is talking to your healthcare provider.

One thing that one should do that has asthma is to stay keeping active.

Asthma is treated with long-term control and quick-relief medicines.

Long-term control medicines help reduce airway inflammation and prevent asthma symptoms.

Quick-relief or rescue inhalers relieve asthma symptoms that may flare-up.

Avoid things that may worsen your asthma.

The Reason I Want To Help With Lung Diseases

Is because it has affected my family as well as other families that I know.

I know that going untreated can lead to death, so I want to get as much information out on this as I can. COPD is a serious lung disease. The earlier detected the easier it will be able to be treated.

I hope this information will help somebody in some way, Thanks for reading.

  3. Thank you Fred for a very informative post. I feel that it I should important to know about our health and what signs tonlook out for. I had already heard of asthma but didn’t know too much about it. I didn’t know about COPD so thank you saying what to look out for and how to treat it.

  4. Great article and very informative. I did not know that one cause of COPD could be burning trash. That is a huge vulnerability.

That keeps me mindful because I am currently living in the Philippines and pollution here is definitely a problem. Burning trash is the norm here.

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. This is very important information for me because I have COPD and I am always interested when someone writes about the topic. I use the preventive measures you speak about here and find them to be effective.

  6. I was diagnosed of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in 2012 at the age of 63. I had been a heavy smoker, my symptoms started out with dry cough and shortness of breath, i ended up in the hospital, on a ventilator. I should have known it was coming, but like most smokers, thought it would never happen to me. My COPD got significantly worse and unbearable because of my difficulty catching breath. Last year, i started on a natural COPD Herbal therapy from NewLife Herbal Clinic, i read a lot of positive reviews from patients who used the treatment and i immediately started on it. I had great relief with this herbal treatment. I breath very much better now, no case of shortness of breath or chest tightness since treatment. Visit NewLife Herbal Clinic website ww w. newlifeherbalclinic. com. This COPD treatment is a miracle!!

  7. I have had emphysema for about five years. I was on oxygen during the day but not at night. I could go about two hours without the oxygen, and then I need it. I had a converter in the house and oxygen tanks for when I go shopping, etc. I am 64 years old and in relatively good health. The doctor said it was caused by a combination of smoking, dust here in Vegas, and 30 years of smog in California. I believed I will always need the oxygen to breathe. I quit smoking 15 years ago. But the damage has been done. January 2017 my pulmonologist and I decided to go with natural treatment and was introduced to Green House Herbal Clinic natural organic Emphysema Herbal formula, i had a total decline of symptoms with this Emphysema Herbal formula treatment. Visit Green House Herbal Clinic official web-site The infections, shortness of breath, fatigue, dry cough and other symptoms has subsided.  I am very pleased with this treatment. I breath very well now and exercise regularly, sometimes i totally forget i ever had Emphysema, I am thankful to nature, the medics failed. Share with friends!!

    • Thank you for your comment, you can treat it, but you can’t cure it. What damage is done is done. Good luck to you and we hope and pray for the best.

  8. People mostly don’t associate the lungs with longevity. In fact lung capacity is more important than heart health.
Even those with asthma and COPD, as you’ve explained, can maintain a functional lung capacity if they take care of themselves in the prescribed ways.

    • Thanks for the comment Dianne, and exactly taking care of the lungs is as important as our heart. Just ask the ones that have lung problems you will suffer more with poor lung capacity. I think we should what we put in them such as smoke or chemicals or toxins.
