Guide to your Optimal Health

Let’s start this guide off in some of the usual ways with what do we do the first thing of the morning for our Optimal Health?

We know here at livegreaterhealth that a good healthy routine will help keep your body strong and effective for the tasks of the day. So it’s our duty to write a guide for everyone to go buy to be strong and healthy.

Eat a good nutritious meal for breakfast that helps the body with the fuel it needs to perform. In this guide from livegreaterhealth.com we are going to give you some suggestions that will give you the fuel you need.

What’s for Breakfast

You can choose any food out of this photo and it would be fine for breakfast.  Here are a few that are listed that I eat in the mornings. Except for one if you can guess it.

  1. Oatmeal – this is really a great meal of the morning filling It has insoluble fiber that has cancer-fighting properties. The soluble fiber that it contains helps lower the bad cholesterol(LDL) and raise the good cholesterol(HDL). It is a good source of protein. It has vitamin E, copper, Iron, Magnesium, Selenium, Zinc.
  2. Coffee – I like to start my day off with a good hot cup of coffee. Why? Because coffee has caffeine which is good for mental alertness and has been shown to improve a person’s mood. The caffeine in it can help with metabolism and fat burning.
  3. Eggs – why not? Eggs are delicious and good for you. They do have cholesterol but they don’t usually raise cholesterol in most people. Eggs contain antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthin which are good for eye health. With people that have cataracts and macular degeneration. One of the best things eggs have is Choline which is good for the brain and liver.
  4. Greek Yogurt with berries – nutritious and has a protein that helps decrease the feeling of hunger. A good source of probiotics that makes your gut happy.
  5. Breakfast Burrito – with your favorite vegetables and fruits this a great meal.

These are a few that are simple to make you can have your own ideas or recipes it’s your choice just make sure they are healthy. The main thing is to start your day with the right foods to give your brain a boost.

A brain boost of the morning will put your day into the right mode for better decisions.

Drinking Water

It’s important to drink plenty of water each day. I usually drink at least 16 oz or more first thing of the morning. For you 8 oz will be plenty getting your body hydrated early is key because your body becomes dehydrated overnight.

Drinking water early in the morning helps flush the digestive system.

Without water, we have no life. Many of us live in dehydration or partially dehydrated for Optimal Health put more water in your diet.

Exercise

This is one you may already do but let me tell you that it is very important. You set your own schedule it may be evening or morning or any time of the day whenever it’s right for you.

Here are a few that when done daily will be all you need through the day.

Jumping Jacks – why jumping jacks? They are used most often in schools and most exercise groups. Ever wonder why they choose this type? Because Jumping Jacks works so many different kinds of muscles in our body and accelerates the heart rate.

Push-ups – another easy to do exercise that uses many muscle movements and accelerates the heart rate.

Squats – just about everyone can do squats and they’re fantastic for the legs and glutes. Plus helps with balance and good posture.

Resistance exercises – easy and should be put into your day helps build muscle and bone density. Buying resistance bands work good for this and are very cost-efficient clicking this link.

Planks – are good for the rib cage area strengthening and also good for strengthening muscles around the organs. Help in upper body movements such as arms, chest, and back.

All these exercises are simple and can be done anywhere at home on a daily basis. You may even want to make up some of your own to help stay fit and active.

These exercises can be done in the morning to help get the blood flowing or anytime you got a few extra minutes.

You may have a gym membership or go to a gym every week. This is a good way of staying in shape and usually not very expensive.

Sleep for Optimal Health

Sleep is vital to not only our physical health but also our mental health too. Having healthy sleep habits makes our lives much more worthy of better quality.

It’s important to get plenty of sleep to stay healthy. The body goes into a healing mode when resting the right amount of this lets your body re-cooperate from the days stressful situations. Plus helps the muscles re-cooperate from their daily stresses.

Good sleep habits are a must to be healthy. Going to sleep about the same time every day and getting 8 to 10 hours of sleep. Getting up at regular times each day. Stay on a good sleep schedule for Optimal Health.

When should you eat your last meal of the day?

Eating your last meal of the day is very important. Keeping your meals on a timed schedule is good for keeping a healthy metabolism. A good last meal of the day helps with better sleep.

We should try to keep our meals at regular times each day if possible. It helps keep the digestive system working smoothly and it’ always better to keep the gut happy for Optimal Health.

  • Hello Fred. Great to know that coffee in the list. I can't do without one especially early in the morning. I completely agree with you that regular meals at a fixed time are important. If mine is off the schedule, I will get gastric juice overflowing.
    Great article, as always. Sharon

    • Thanks, Sharon for the comment I appreciate you reading and glad you got some good from it. Coffee, it's hard to do without for me and I see it is for you too. When eating meals at regular times makes your gut happy and in tune. You feel better when this is done.

  • Interesting site covering physical and mental health and well being. I will re-visit from time to time. Alan

    • Thanks for the comment, Alan. Yes, this is an interesting post along with the site plenty of helpful information for everyone. Stop anytime if you need healthy info.

  • Hello Fred,

These are perfect advice for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My breakfast is mostly yoghurt, fruit, berries, nuts, coconut flakes. Sometimes I eat an egg, cream quark, berries and nut. I drink a lot of tea. I want to think about starting the day with a glass of water. I do exercises like jogging and workout 5 times a week and I sleep 7 to 8 hours per night.

I believe I’m on the right path to great health, but there is always possible to improve. Therefore I like to read your posts and see if there is something I can learn.

    Pernilla

    • Thank you for the comment, Pernilla. I think that you are on the right track. Teas are healthy to drink if not too sweet. Being active daily involving our muscles is what we need. 7 to 8 may be enough for some people just have to find out what works for you. We can always improve.

  • Some great ideas for good health. I can relate to the part about hydrating in the morning. I often feel dehydrated in the morning. I am sipping on water now. People rave about all these health breakfast cereals, such as granola, and fiber cereals in the box, and granola bars; but they really are not a healthful choice. They are usually loaded with sugar, which negates the health benefit received from the oats and flax. The best morning cereal is, as you said, oatmeal--without sugar! Just add bananas or blueberries, etc. with some soy or almond milk.

Enjoyed this post much. I will keep sipping on my water throughout the day. Thanks a bushel!

    • Thank you, Robert, for the comment. I wish other people seen it the way that we do. Water is very beneficial for our health and we have to have it. no matter what we think or feel we need it and your those so-called healthy breakfast bars are not healthy. Oatmeal is considered a cereal by me and without sugar would be the best but I do use some brown sugar in mine probably not the best thing to do but I like the flavor.

  • I like that you discussed the importance of drinking lots of water daily. It is a healthy practice that keeps me going everyday - starting my days by drinking 1-2 litres of water every morning. What time would you recommend to eat the last meal for the day?

    • Thank you for the comment. I like to start my day off with a big 16 oz. glass of water before doing anything else. Then I follow that up with a hot cup of coffee. When it comes to eating well we pretty much have to make our own schedule but I go to bed around nine o clock. So I like to eat my last meal around 5 or 6 o clock.
