Nice post on the dreaded flu, I drink 750ml of water + juice from half a lemon + tablespoon of Fire Cider first thing each morning I’ve had one bout of the “flu” in the 5 years since I started. I’m all for the ounce of prevention over the pound of cure everytime.
Thanks for the comment, Paul. I like the way you think something is better to be prevented than treated. Lemon and honey and apple cider vinegar make a good mix to soothe the throat. Many things in the fruit and herb line are good for many illnesses.
Thank you for this information.
I like to use Oregano oil and tea and find that it works wonders.
I have also used ginger, and probiotics.
Thanks
Thanks for the comment. You should know that most herbs do the body good so why not take them if you can. These that you have mentioned here may be some of the best to take for colds and the flu.
Interesting post! Before i started to go to gym, I had colds quite often and I had hard time getting rid of them, but now days when i exercise regularly and eat a better diet, I usually get the cold only ones or twice a year. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the comment, Johnny. Not all colds lead to influenza we can have a common cold quite often. The influenza virus is how we get the flu. Doing things to help prevent that is what we must do. One of them is regular exercise.
Thank you for the post very informative as bad as the flu gets we need these kind of posts. Thank you. David

Great information and breakdown Fred. Flu is really annoying and I hate when the congestion and runny nose sets in. I usually mix ginger, honey, and lemon together with some turmeric and then drink it. It works wonders for me.
Thank you for this alternatives.
Cheers,
Sir Dantes.
Thank you, Edmond, for the comment. Making our own herbal medicines is the way to go. The only way for people to find out about these herbal recipes is for us to tell them.
Great article! I absolutely believe in healing colds and flu naturally. Have always used Olive Leaf extract to great benefit! People run to the doctor to quickly, and colds can’t be cured by antibiotics!
Very true Mariette. Antibiotics are not good for the body. But we sometimes need to take them to stay healthy. It’s best to naturally heal your body with herbs Gods medicine. Our bodies are made to heal themselves with the right care. Thanks for the commenting.
Thank you for information on remedies and vitamins. My son gets the flu almost every year even after getting the flu shot. I am big on vitamins and herbs so that information was most helpful. Thank you for sharing this info. Xoxo

Hello, and thank you for the great post. I had no idea there were 3 strains to influenza. I knew about the 2. Also, what are you thoughts on the flu shot? I’ve actually never had one, but my sister keeps telling me I need to get one. Especially now that I’m getting older lol…
Thank you again 🙂
Thanks, for the comment Sabrina. There are 3 strains of the flu we don’t hear about them too much. When it comes to flu shots it is up to you. Some people want them and some don’t. I think it all depends on your health and maybe age also. In my case, I don’t take them but my wife does due to her health.
Oh goodness! I didn’t know that flu was short for Influenza! I never ever get the flu shot because I don’t like being injected with germs. Besides, I always knew it wouldn’t help stave off the flu. My mom and dad always relied on home remedies. My mother uses fresh garlic a lot. Thank you for an informative article.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah flu is short for influenza both one and the same. Natural remedies are the best way to prevent it. Eating right can make a big difference in whether or not you get the flu.
This is such a great article. I didn’t know so many people die from Influenza yearly. The figures are so staggering.
Now I know the ways flu is spread and many things are making sense now.
I would like to ask whether using medication like med-lemon is good for your body because I tend to use that a lot when I get sick?
I also use ginger but only on occasions. I also find that using garlic is a very preventative measure for influenza.
Thanks, Thabo for the comment pertaining to the question you asked about med-lemon truthfully I’ve never heard of it. There are several that are good as explained in the post that can be taken to help ease and prevent the flu.
